Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite Recap

We had the BEST at Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite! As usual, Disneyland did an extremely good job at putting this special event together. For those who don’t know, Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite was the first of a series of themed events that the park will be hosting this year. We don’t know what theme the next event will be yet, but will for sure share the information as soon as we hear!

Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite Recap

Throwback Nite was a special 50’s and 60’s themed evening that took guests guests back to the time when Disneyland opened in 1955! Many of the evening’s attendees were dressed in their throwback best (so fun to see!), there were special food offerings inspired by the 50’s and 60’s, special entertainment around the park, “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks spectacular (the first ever fireworks spectacular that Disneyland showed in 1955!), fun photo spots, and even some classic characters from way back when that we don’t typically see at the parks were out and about!

We think these events are SO worth purchasing a ticket to. The reasons why include: LOW crowds, short wait times, an excuse to dress up (always fun!), experiences that guests don’t get to partake in on a typical Disney day, commemorative merchandise only sold at the event, and plenty of time to do everything you’d want to do at Disneyland (pretty much all attractions were open). This particular event started at 8:00 PM, but guests with a ticket were able to enter Disneyland at 6:00 PM. The event ended at 1:00 AM, so anyone with a ticket was able to be in the park for 7 whole hours – lots of time to do everything, especially since crowds were super minimal!

The ticket to Throwback Nite was $95, but again, in our opinion, it was totally worth it to avoid big crowds and long wait times! If you already have an Annual Pass, you still need to purchase a ticket to the special event and if you already have a day ticket to Disneyland, you’d need to purchase a separate ticket to the special event on top of your regular admission ticket.
